The Hardest Blessing (the Brethren of the Cathedral book 1) by Catherine Cory

 I would like to thank Catherine Cory and NetGalley for allowing me to read a copy in exchange for a honest review.

The Hardest Blessing was way better than I thought it would be. Definitely has Cassandra Clare vibes, so if you love Mortal Instruments you will love this book.

I had to warm up to Harper because she annoyed me at the beginning of the book, but I loved Demetrius because he is such a sweetheart (and also one of those people who will hurt anyone who goes after his woman).

This is a quick book like I finished it in an hour and would be curious to continue the series. I need to know who will be Demetrius's 1,000,000 (10,000?) soul. At the beginning of the book it was 10,000 souls and then it suddenly went to 1,000,000 souls he needs to save (which is in the blurb so I am going to assume that was the right number).

For anyone looking for a quick read with gargoyle shifters (Cursed), Mortal Instruments vibes, and cocky characters.
