I received a free copy of Hexed, Vexed, and Undersexed by MJ Marstens via a giveaway from another author.
This book is exactly what it sounds like, it is a trashy smutty satire novel that pokes fun at witches and the cliches surrounding them.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is cute, funny, quick read, with a character you will find yourself rooting for and hoping she will get her magic back, a cat turned into a hunk of a man, an arch nemesis who is drop dead gorgeous and the chemistry between them is *chef's kiss*, and a human lover who does not give one iota that he does not have magic or that he has to share Evanora with the other two men. That's right, this book has twosomes, threesomes, and foursomes while also poking fun at it.
The satirical tone gave me such Spelled by Betsy Schow vibes that helped me fall in love with it (because I figured it out sooner).
If you want to read a book that twists witches while embracing the cliches to make fun of them and a smuttiness that will have you swooning and rooting for Evanora to get not only her magic back, but her men as well. Read this book I cannot recommend it highly enough and it is the first book I've read in a long time that has the ending tie neatly into the title again.
5 out of 5 stars.
