I love this book so much and found it way better than the Disney Mulan. I devoured this in a day and had last page syndrome (where you keep flipping back and forth when you reach the end because you cannot believe that you've reached the end).
This needs to be a movie. The world building is at such a perfect pace that you can easily visualize almost everything. I wanted more details near the end and the volcano because that was a little hard to picture.
The entire premise of the story was an absolute delight and I am a sucker for all things mythological. Mulan, Shang, and ShiShi (Shang's guardian) make me so happy.
If you love mythologies or are looking for something that has a twist then pick up a copy of Reflection. It will not disappoint you.
