Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson is an adorable novel about friendships, finding love where you least expect it, and finding confidence in yourself.

"I had decided [...] that if she was there, I wouldn't need an explanation". (p 1). I feel so much for Emily because within the first couple of pages you get a deep sense of how much Emily relies on Sloane.

"I didn't care what I had to promise if it meant Sloane would be there. Because if Sloane was there, everything could start making sense again." (p 2).

I wanted to give Emily a great big hug from the beginning because she tries so hard to be all calm, cool and collected, but like a true introvert going out is a big deal especially since she no longer has Sloane to take the attention off of her.

I love Frank Porter he is now one of my new book boyfriends. It is so sweet how they help each other out and I also love how the more people she tells about the list the more they are willing to help her cross things off of it.  I am a sucker for bucket list kind of books and this one reminded me of The F* It List by Julie Halpern especially since both MC do a list that was forced on them by their friends and they both find love unexpectedly. I am so down for that all day every day. I have no regrets except I need more Frank. And Emily is far braver than I ever would be ( I wouldn't even be able to do number 1 on the list: kiss a stranger. How many people would do that?)

5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommend.
